Port Alfred Information & Attractions

The small town of Port Alfred consist of a population of under 20,000 and was established in the early 1820’s. Because of its wonderfully temperate climate its never too hot or cold this makes the town the ideal sport destination, this is enhanced by the Kowei River. The town is rich with indigenous vegetation, fauna and bird life. Port Alfred attract sea lovers by its beautiful beaches and the collection of shells is a must for them, and for those who seek dry land the Gary Player golf course and the malaria-free  Shamwari game reserve are near by. With all these attractions in Port Alfred the main attraction is the harbour along with the residential marina the Royal Alfred  with many canals.
