Lalibela Game Reserve

Lalibela Private Game Reserve is situated approximately 90 km (55 miles) from Port Elizabeth, "The Friendly City". Lalibela is a fantastic destination to unwind and take time out with your family or to get away to spend time with your spouse. The family-friendly accommodation offered by Lalibela is at Marks Camp and consists of three family suites. Lalibela also offers a fantastic children's program for all the kids visiting the reserve.

On the reserve, you will be treated with game drives looking for the famous big five and all the other species that make up the ecosystem of this reserve. The drives are informative with trained guides and are conducted in open game viewing vehicles giving you a true feeling of being in the bush. You are treated with a friendly staff and authentic African experiences at Lalibela. Whether on drive, eating or just relaxing in your room, you are given the genuine African Safari experience.

Exquisite African dishes are offered to you between the game activities while you are spoilt by the warm and friendly staff. At Lalibela, the chefs like to concentrate on the local specialties and offer true safari cuisine ranging from age-old recipes to exciting contemporary African dishes.

The accommodation rates at Lalibela Private Game Reserve are fully inclusive of all meals, game drives as well as all local beverages (excluding premium wines).

Late check out policy:
Lake check-out is on arrangement. Guests need to check out of their rooms by 10:00.

Policy on children staying with parents:

Children under 12 year old sharing with one or two adults pay half price.

They have spent a great deal of time carefully considering their child policy to ensure the correct balance between providing an exciting safari experience for children, ensuring their young guests' safety at all times and providing a wonderful family holiday, yet ensuring that the enjoyment of other guests is not compromised at all.

• The children's programme is on a fully-inclusive basis: all meals, soft drinks at Mark's Camp and on game drives, activities, entertainment, child minder's services and children's facilities are included in the rate.
• The children's programme is designed specifically for children under the age of 8 years, but children older than 8 (including parents) are welcome to join in on any or all of the activities.
• The child minders look after children and babies of all ages as well. They are on duty from 06:00 - 10:00 in the morning and again from 16:00 - 22:00 in the afternoon/evening. Should any additional child reminding be required outside of these hours, the host or hostess will gladly arrange it. Kindly note that the additional hours are an extra charge of R50 an hour.
• Children less than 8 years of age may not, under any circumstances, join the adult's game drive. They will be taken on their own 'Bumble Bee' drive accompanied by their child-minder to see the less dangerous game. For safety reasons, the children's rangers will avoid close range Big 5 sightings.
• Children under 8 years of age may not dine with the adults in the main dining area.
• No child under 18 years of age will be served from the bar.
• If the family is travelling with their au pair, he or she is charged the full adult sharing rate and can join in with either the adult or children's programmes. A family unit will be booked for the child minder and children and an additional room for the parents.
• All activities and participation therein is at management's discretion.
• Any dietary requirements must be advised prior to arrival at Lalibela.

Cancellation Policy:

• Full pre-payment is required 30 days prior to arrival
• 25% cancellation fee if cancelled less than 30 days prior to arrival
• 50% cancellation fee if cancelled less than 14 days prior to arrival
• 100% cancellation fee if cancelled less than 7 days prior to arrival
• 100% forfeit if no-show
