Hacklewood Hill Country House

Hacklewood Hill Country House was built in 1898 and has been restored to its former glory and turned into this elegant and luxurious country house. The spacious bedrooms are luxuriously decorated in classic country house tradition and include air-conditioning and heating. All the bedrooms have large Victorian en suite bathrooms which have separate showers and heated towel rails.

Guests will find comfort and ambiance in the drawing room with its magnificent fireplace and French doors leading onto the salt water sparkling pool and lush, well maintained garden where guests can enjoy a variety of birdlife and if they wish a peaceful game of tennis. Each bedroom has a balcony leading out with views over the old English-style gardens.

The dining room where meals will be served by the Cordon Bleu chef has breathtaking brass candelabra. The chef prepares every meal with the freshest and finest ingredients that will tantalize your every taste bud. Delicious light lunches are served on request while the guests can go down into the authentic wine cellar beneath the house and choose a fine wine from the houses collection that can complement their meal.

Guests can enjoy the morning lounge where board games are kept with a selection of books. Alternative guests can enjoy a drink after dinner in a comfortable atmosphere around the fireplace. On the first floor leading off the old yellow-wood staircase, the gallery is filled with original art for guests to enjoy which also features a sky-light completed in stained glass.

A few-minute drive away guests will find the grand stretches of the Port Elizabeth Coastline and some fantastic and challenging golf courses.
