3 Day Colonial camp safari experience


Duration: 3 days - Location: Eastern Cape

Enjoy a great 3-day colonial safari with a visit to the Addo National Park en route to the camp, which offers a fantastic experience before enjoying this intimate camp. Guests then enjoy 2 nights in a colonial-style camp before heading back to Port Elizabeth. En route to Port Elizabeth, guests get to enjoy an afternoon drive through the Addo national Park, again providing a full wildlife safari experience.

DAY 1: DEPART PORT ELIZABETH – DRIVE THROUGH ADDO NP – DRIVE TO QUARTERMAIN’S CAMP

Guests are collected at their respective overnight hotels / accommodation by their Lyon Tours & Safaris guide. The tour departs after guests have enjoyed breakfast. The first stop is the Addo National Park, where guests enjoy a guided drive through the park in a closed vehicle with a guide. A refreshment stop is enjoyed overlooking the park. The tour then leaves the park and allows guests an opportunity to visit the Addo shop or restaurant for something light to eat (own expense). The tour then departs for Quatermain’s Camp, where guests will stay in a bygone-era, safari-style tented camp that offers all the basic amenities required for a comfortable stay. Guests enjoy an afternoon/evening game drive in an open vehicle searching for the wildlife on the reserve. Guests will enjoy a stop at dusk while on the drive to savoir the African bush during this time of day. The guests then enjoy an evening drive while returning to the lodge, looking for some of the nocturnal animals that only come out at night. On returning to the camp guests have an opportunity to freshen up and then enjoy dinner and the rest of the evening at leisure.

DAY 2: QUATERMAIN’S CAMP

Guests enjoy an early morning with tea, coffee and a few morning treats like muffins before departing on a drive and morning walk through the reserve. The guide will also have a tea and coffee stop while out in the reserve. On returning to the camp guests will enjoy an excellent brunch before enjoying some time relaxing and enjoying some leisure time outdoors.Guests then drive through the reserve during the afternoon and evening, enjoying this spectacular environment. After enjoying a sun-down drink guests drive back to the camp for a fantastic dinner and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure.

DAY 3: DEPART QUARTERMAIN’S CAMP – DRIVE THROUGH THE ADDO NP – TRAVEL TO PORT ELIZABETH

Guests have an early wakeup call with tea and coffee and biscuits ready and waiting for them. The guests then depart on a game drive through the reserve looking for animals that they have not yet found. The guests enjoy a tea and coffee stop before returning to the camp for a delicious breakfast. After guests have enjoyed their breakfast they are collected and depart the camp and the travel back down towards Port Elizabeth. But not before a last stop in the Addo National Park, again enjoying one last opportunity to see the Big 5. The tour departs from the park just before the gates close and travels down to Port Elizabeth to drop the guests off at their desired drop-off point or accommodation.

What Do You Need?

An adventurous spirit and a love for nature and wildlife. It would be a good idea to bring along a rain jacket, camera, binoculars, guide books, sunscreen, hat, warm jacket and personal toiletries.

Malaria

This tour takes place in a malaria-free area of South Africa. However we do advise bringing insect repellant during our summer months.

Cancellation Policy

If the reservation is cancelled by the client, cancellation fees will be due and payable according to the following:

  • 30 to 45 days prior to planned departure date, a refund of the amount paid in excess of the non-refundable deposit.
  • 21 to 30 days prior to the planned tour departure date, a refund of the amount paid in excess of the non-refundable deposit plus 25%
  • 20 days or less to the planned tour departure date, no refund.

If the reservation is cancelled by the operator, who reserves the right to do so by discretion, then the full amount paid, shall be refunded to the client
