The Angler and Antelope’s location in Somerset East makes it very accessible to the fishing waters around the town hassle free. With the four biomes that are found in Somerset East region namely, the Karoo, savannah, grassiest and indigenous forest makes this an ideal location to experience various environments. The Boschberg Mountains influence an unusual amount of rainfall for this region allowing these biomes to thrive and makes Somerset East an exceptionally good fishing destination. When you stay at The Angler and Antelope, Alan, the in-house fly-fishing guide will take you to exclusive waters in the area to try your luck with some fly-fishing. He is a great teacher and coach for all types of fly-fishing levels, from beginners to advanced fishermen. Trout is a favorite species, which is targeted, and there are some record sized fish to be caught in this area. Animal and bird life are abundant in the region with over 350 bird species being counted and a number of rare and interesting plants can also be identified to you while on your fly fishing trip. The town of Somerset East was established in 1825, and as such there is a rich history in the area, which can be explored by visiting the many historical monuments, as well as the Somerset East Museum. Guests can enjoy an all-round experience when staying at the Angler and Antelope.

The facilities at the Angler and Antelope are fantastic and can be enjoyed by any guests visiting. The Guesthouse and selfcatering Fisherman's cottage are all 4-star graded and all come with the standard amenities one would expect from such a graded establishment.
