Amakhala, the name in Xhosa word means Aloes, which is the popular plant found throughout this particular area in South Africa and in the extremely diverse Eastern Cape Province. The reserve is approximately 7000 hectares and is an ideal place to experience the true African safari. Abundant wildlife and an environment that supports them is an ideal setting to experience the Eastern Cape.
Woodbury Lodge is owned by the Gush family who will ensure that you have a truly unforgettable stay. The Lodge has been designed very carefully to ensure that it fits in with its natural surroundings and does not have a negative impact on the surrounding areas. Woodbury Lodge offers guests personalized experiences to suit the guest's requirements. Guests can decide when they would like to eat and when they would like to go out on game activities. Woodbury Lodge in Amakhala Game Reserve offers various services and facilities. All the meals are served in a relaxed and stylish atmosphere in the central dining room. Before the dinners are served, guests can gather around the outdoor fire or in the bar/lounge for a drink and snacks. Woodbury Lodge also offers a range of game viewing experiences and other activities such as canoeing and river cruises. There is also a cool outdoor pool for relaxation at the Lodge.

Children policy:
- Children under 6 years are not allowed on game drives. Some lodges may make special arrangements for children under 6 but this should be confirmed with the lodge in which you are staying prior to arrival.
- Children aged less than 12 years old, either sharing a room with their parents or in separate room, will be charged 50% of the normal rate, which includes meals, accommodation and game drives.
- Children aged from 12 years old will require a separate room at 100 % of the normal rate.
- Infants under 2 years are free of charge.
- Woodbury Lodge offers 2 family rooms with a maximum occupancy of 4 guests.

Other Disclosures:
Rooms may be occupied from 14h00 on the day of arrival. Game drives leave from 14h30, so please ensure that you arrive on time.
Should you not be able to attend lunch on the day of arrival, please inform reservations accordingly.
Rooms must please be vacated by 11h00 on the day of departure for the convenience of arriving guests. Day room rates are available upon request and are subject to availability.
Rates include:

- 25% of fee if cancelled less than 30 days prior to arrival.
- 50% of fee if cancelled less than 14 days prior to arrival.
- 100% of fee if cancelled less than 48 hours prior to arrival.
