Amakhala, the name is in the Xhosa word meaning Aloes, which is the popular plant found throughout this particular area in South Africa and in the extremely diverse Eastern Cape Province. The reserve is approximately 7,000 hectares big and is an ideal place to experience the true African safari. Abundant wildlife and an environment that supports them are an ideal setting to experience an Eastern Cape safari.
Reed Valley Bush Lodge is a luxurious 5-tar tented lodge with 4 luxury suites offering guests a pleasurable and unforgettable safari experience. The guests arrive at the Reed Valley Inn reception and are welcomed by the friendly staff. From there the guests are transported to the Bush Lodge by their personal guide who will take care of their every need during their stay at the Reed Valley Bush Lodge.

The Dining area in the main building is where guests will enjoy the delights of the chef and kitchen staff, cuisines that will excite the taste buds of any guest. There is a bar and a lounge in the main building which consists of 96 meter square deck with an outdoor and indoor fire place. All the guests will meet here prior to all game drives and activities and if you are in need of anything the friendly staff in the main lodge will be glad to assist with any request.

Rooms may be occupied from 14h00 on the day of arrival. Game drives leave from 14h30, so please ensure that you arrive on time.
Should you not be able to attend lunch on the day of arrival, please inform reservations accordingly.
Rooms must please be vacated by 11h00 on the day of departure for the convenience of arriving guests.
Day room rates are available upon request and are subject to availability.

- 25% of fee if cancelled less than 30 days prior to arrival.
- 50% of fee if cancelled less than 14 days prior to arrival.
